My “world-changing” web application is a mini-social network wherein the user creates his / her very own on-line profile. It gives the user the ability to connect and interact with other users like facebook and other social networking sites in order to keep in touch with those close to you. They have to add them as a friend first before they can interact with one another as a means of privacy wherein the owner of the page can either accept or reject the pending request. The application also offers the user to engage in photo and video sharing, chat, browse and read news, buy and sell of items, advertise, etc.

I am formulating an idea which is focused on the lifestyle and desire of people today by working on something I know they would want in a website. Having useful features in a web application makes registered users access it frequently and stay connected longer. It can also be used for work and leisure. People like sharing photos, videos, words, experiences, read news, etc. so this web application is focused on achieving that desire.

The photo and video sharing and chat feature is intended for the users because they want to stay connected and communicate on a daily basis. They want to look things up. It is less work and the results are usually more interesting. For the online news feature, it offers a web-based alternative to newspapers and magazines since publication of these materials are declining. This is an attempt to follow the future and stay ahead of people through the growth of technology.

Many agree on the emergence of electronic media which will continue to grow. In lieu of simple browsing, a search form will be available for users to locate preferred content easily and instantly. In the chat feature, if the user has a webcam, he will be able to engage in a video chat with other users that are their friends. My web application will also feature an online store for those who enjoy and want to buy and sell items.

An advertising feature may also be included in the web application to help people promote business-related matters. The privacy setting will only allow users who have added you to view your profile’s content but the user can choose which content to view whenever his / her account is viewed. To make your personal profile lively, the user will have the option to integrate a theme or create their own. This web application will change the world because of the features that it offers, its focus on the future and people as well as their goals wherein the users will be able to use it to their advantage and appreciate the web more through a private and public world depending on the site’s purpose of use, whether for work or for leisure.

Another reason why this web application will change the world is because it will play a major role in everyday lives of people and they will also realize how great and important the use of the web is nowadays. I want to help people appreciate the web more through simple browsing and a user interface that is right for them.

What makes my web application different is the features offered, its focus on the future and the desires of people in an online profile website as well as their goals. It will be different because there will be features in my web application that the competing sites lack like the chat and online store. One of the sites focus will be everyday living which caters to everyday needs and lifestyle of the users. I want the users to make the most out of and be able to interact with the web in order for them to appreciate it more.

They need to realize how great and important the future of the internet and web applications is in our lives. The future holds many great things. My web application will support a simple user interface and browsing for better interaction with the application’s users. This web application will also be different because it can be used in work and for leisure.
